What Will We Learn at Camp?
At our camp, campers will learn about the structure of the surfboard and specialized equipment, improve paddling techniques and water control, practice balanced standing on the board, and develop the confidence to pass through waves safely.
They will learn the art of catching a wave and riding it properly, with an emphasis on safety techniques and understanding sea conditions.
Professional Enrichment
Alongside hands-on surfing, campers will expand their knowledge in related fields. They will learn about the history of surfing around the world and in Israel, become familiar with different types of surfboards and when each is used, deepen their understanding of wave types and how they are formed, and gain tools for understanding wind forecasts, weather, and sea conditions.
Requirements
The camp is intended for children ages 9 and up.
The essential requirement is that each camper must know how to swim and have no medical conditions that may prevent participation.
Location
The camp takes place at the separate beach in Bat Yam — a protected location specially suited to our needs.
